A refrigerator includes a storage chamber for storing food items and a touchscreen panel which displays a food management screen for managing the food items stored in the storage chamber. The touchscreen panel displays a food addition screen on the food management screen to store additional food items in the storage chamber upon receiving a food addition command from a user. The refrigerator enables efficient management of the stored food items by providing the food management screen on the touchscreen panel to easily check the location of a stored food item, and the storage time and the expiration date of the food item.
