PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device 1 for enabling a user to visually recognize an image displayed on a display 2 without requiring a conventional complicated optical system, even when the display 2 is located in close proximity to the eyes of the user.SOLUTION: The display device 1 comprises: the display 2 for displaying an image; a first polarizing plate 4 which is disposed at a position where output light 15 constituting the image displayed on the display 2 is made incident and polarizes the output light 15; and a second polarizing plate 5 which is disposed at a position where the output light 15 polarized by the first polarizing plate 4 is made incident and polarizes the output light 15. A polarization transmission axis possessed by the first polarizing plate 4 and a polarization transmission axis possessed by the second polarizing plate 5 have directions different from each other, and the second polarizing plate 5 has a pinhole part 17 through which the output light 15 polarized by the first polarizer 4 is made to pass. |
