The invention relates to a method for the conversion of lignocellulosic or cellulosic biomass, simultaneously using an original combination of at least two homogeneous catalysts and at least one heterogeneous catalyst. The use of said catalysts allows the direct production of mono-oxygenated or poly-oxygenated recoverable products and the restriction of the formation of non-recoverable products. The term non-recoverable products is used to mean soluble and non-soluble humins, i.e. high-molecular-weight products created from unwanted condensation reactions of sugars and the derivatives thereof.
