TRANSMISSION OF PROBING PILOTS IN A SHARED RADIO CELL

The present disclosure concerns radio communication. More particularly, the present disclosure inter alia introduces adaptive utilization of additional pilots, such as probing pilots, in a shared radio cell deployment. According to one embodiment, information on UE capabilities of UEs that are present in the shared radio cellis collecting (110). Based on the thus collected information it is also determined (120) whether there exists any UE that is capable of utilizing probing pilots (e.g. a Rel-12 UE or similar). In response to a determination that there exists at least one UE that is capable of utilizing probing pilots probing pilots are transmitted (130) to the UEs.
