Provided are a carbon fiber-reinforced polybutylene terephthalate shaped product having excellent physical properties and appearance; a method for manufacturing the shaped product through a simple process that does not cause an increase in manufacturing costs; and a material for molding, which enables achievement of the manufacturing method. A material for molding, wherein 50 to 2,000 parts by mass of a polybutylene terephthalate is adhered to carbon fiber bundles to be easily impregnated containing 100 parts by mass of a carbon fiber and 3 to 15 parts by mass of at least one impregnation aid that meets specific requirements.
