According to an embodiment of the present invention, a video decoding method supporting a plurality of layers includes the steps of: receiving information about a reference layer used for decoding a current picture for interlayer prediction; inducing the number of effective reference layer pictures used for decoding the current picture based on the information about the reference layer; and executing interlayer prediction based on the number of the effective reference layer pictures.
