<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information reading system and an information reading method which use a wireless communication medium that is installed inside or on a surface of a living body and can give appropriate authority to a reader so that a person who needs information can read out the necessary information. <P>SOLUTION: An information reading system comprises: a wireless communication medium 1 which is installed inside or on a surface of a living body and has a memory function storing identification information for identifying an installed person; a reader 2 which can read out the identification information stored in the wireless communication medium 1 and perform data communication with the outside; and a server 4 which is connected with the reader 2 to perform data communication and stores personal information for each piece of identification information. The reader 2 reads out first identification information by being close to the wireless communication medium 1 installed inside or on the surface of the living body of a person, and transmits the read out first identification information to the server 4.
