The present invention relates to an air conditioner and a control method thereof. The air conditioner may include: a compressor; a compressor state sensor to sense a pressure value of the compressor by measuring an intake pressure and a discharge pressure of the compressor; and a control part to control an air volume of an indoor unit and a supercooling control mode by comparing a measured pressure value of the compressor from the compressor state sensor with a pressure reference value.
