PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a 3D image of an area and a system for forming a 3D image of an area capable of reducing a total amount of raw data necessary to acquire and increasing altitude resolution.SOLUTION: A method includes first forming a 3D synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image of an area by acquiring a plurality of data sets 401 from the area using one or a plurality of SAR systems. Each SAR system includes one or a plurality of parallel base lines; and a plurality of pulse repetition frequencies (PRF). The base lines differ in PRF. The method includes registering and aligning the data sets so as to form the aligned data sets. Next, the method includes applying a 3D compression sensing reconfiguration procedure 420 to the aligned data sets, and forming a 3D image 430 corresponding to the area. |
