PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel for mold having high hardness, hardly causing segregation, hardly causing deposition of pearlite, high corrosion resistance, hardly causing δ ferrite, high impact value during slow speed hardening and high thermal conductivity.SOLUTION: There is provided a steel for mold containing, by mass%, 0.27%<C<0.36%, 0.07%<Si<0.40%, 7.00%<Cr<8.80%, 0.25%<Mo<0.80%, 0.50%<V<0.75% and 0.0005%<N<0.05%, Mn and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and satisfying -0.1Cr+1.10<Mn<-0.1Cr+1.50. |
