PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the heat radiation characteristics of each component by using the current flowing through the component of a numerical controller, the temperature and the ambient temperature, and to find the signs of abnormality by understanding the change of the heat radiation characteristics numerically.SOLUTION: In a numerical controller 2A provided in a motor drive 20 including a cooling fan motor 11 of a motor 1, the temperature of the components of the motor 1 and the ambient temperature are acquired from temperature detectors 3, 4, the input energy inputted to the components and the output energy outputted therefrom are acquired, the heat radiation characteristics of the components are estimated from the data of the temperature of the components, the ambient temperature, the input energy and the output energy, the heat radiation characteristics of the components thus estimated are compared with the normal values, and when the heat radiation characteristics go below the normal values, a determination is made that the cooling fan motor 11 is abnormal, thus preventing failure of the components in the motor 1 of the motor drive due to overheat. |
