A display orientation switching method is provided for an electronic device. The method includes: after the electronic device is rotated, determining a to-be-switched-to direction of a display on a screen, determining a face position through a face image captured by a front camera, detecting whether the to-be-switched-to direction matches the face position and, when the detecting result is that the to-be-switched-to direction matches the face position, switching the current display orientation on the screen according to the to-be-switched-to direction. Thus, it may be achieved only switching the current display orientation on the screen when the switching direction matches the face position. |
