Compositions and methods for treating psychotic and neurological disorders in a subject are disclosed. The compositions and methods utilize a pharmaceutical compound that reverses or negates the effects of an NMDA receptor antagonist. The compositions and methods are effective in reducing at least catatonic features in the subject.

1. A method of treating a psychotic or neurological disorder comprising catatonic features in a subject in need thereof, comprising:
identifying a subject with a psychotic or neurological disorder comprising catatonic features; and administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition that reduces or negates the effects of an NMDA receptor antagonist and reduces the severity of the catatonic features.
