<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retrieve a desired character string very easily without need for inputting a retrieval target character string by operating keys on an electronic dictionary, by an electronic apparatus having a communication function with the electronic dictionary. <P>SOLUTION: When a desired word is highlighted (X) by specifying a range as a retrieval target word on a text screen in English displayed on a display part 13 of a personal computer 10, and retrieval in a dictionary is instructed by operating a search instruction area 13c, data of the retrieval target word is transmitted to an electronic dictionary 20 by infrared data communication IrDA. Then, dictionary contents for the retrieval target word received from the personal computer 10 are retrieved by English-Japanese dictionary data stored in the electronic dictionary 20 and displayed on a display part 22 of the electronic dictionary 20, or are transmitted to the personal computer 10 as response data and displayed in a window (W) of the display part 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
