The control section 50 performs a first temperature maintaining operation to set the setting temperature to a first temperature to control the cooling element 20 so that the semiconductor detection element 10 is maintained at the first temperature on the basis of the detection element temperature information I<SB POS="POST">10</SB>; a first threshold value determination operation to determine whether or not the temperature of the cooling element 20 is higher than a first threshold value on the basis of the cooling element temperature information I<SB POS="POST">20</SB>; and a second temperature maintaining operation in which, when it is determined that the temperature of the cooling element 20 is higher than the first threshold value in the first threshold value determination operation during performing the first temperature maintaining operation, the setting temperature is changed to a second temperature higher than the first temperature from the first temperature to control the cooling element 20 so that the semiconductor detection element 10 is maintained at the second temperature on the basis of the detection element temperature information I<SB POS="POST">10</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p>
