<p>The present invention relates to an optical line terminal device capable of supporting the Ethernet and, more particularly, to an optical line terminal device capable of supporting the Ethernet, which can minimize load on an Ethernet switch by directly switching frames, which are transmitted and received by terminals of subscribers in a subscriber network managed by an optical line terminal device connected with the Ethernet switch. The optical line terminal device according to an embodiment of the present invention can store a table in which MAC information is matched with a PON ID of a terminal of a subscriber matched with the PON ID allocated to each ONU and can directly process the frames transmitted and received between the terminals of subscribers in a PON network by directly switching the frames, when the frames are physical frames transmitted and received in the PON network managed by the optical line terminal device, based on destination address information of the physical frames which are transmitted from each terminal of a subscriber. Therefore, the optical line terminal device can reduce load on the Ethernet switch, increases the speed of communication, and also prevents unnecessary power consumption.</p> |
