<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stapler in which a staple reliably penetrates through paper sheets. <P>SOLUTION: The stapler includes a clincher holder 21 supporting a pair of clinchers 20L and 20R bending staple legs of the staple penetrating through the paper sheets. The clincher holder 21 is positioned behind of the clinchers 20L and 20R, and in the back holder 21b coming into contact with a slider 3. a receiving part 21C receiving a force for being pushed up by a return spring 25 is formed.
