METHOD OF PRODUCING HOMOZYGOUS PLANTS BY TRANSFORMING HAPLOID SOMATIC PLANT CELLS AND CHROMOSOME DOUBLING

Methods for producing homozygous plants from haploid somatic cells are provided. The haploid somatic cells can be transformed to produce transformed homozygous plants. The production of transformed homozygous plants results in an efficient transformation process in which the transformed plant can be used in product development and commercialization without requiring self-pollination and segregation analysis.
