A system for constructing circular-shaped tanks for storing liquids, which is based on prefabricated modules of post-tensioned concrete, which comprises prefabricated modular pieces of assembled concrete coupled together for forming the tank walls, a system of rings made of post-tensioned steel located in the wall and anchoring pieces for providing the same with the required resistance to support hydrostatic and hydrodynamic loads of the liquid stored in the tank. For the covered tank embodiment, the system includes slab modules, essentially in a triangular or trapezoidal shape, which are reinforced with ribs and one or more columns and beams for supporting the slab modules for covering the upper portion of the tank. |
