PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of utilizing regenerative energy throughout the year, not only during a heating operation, capable of preserving the regenerative energy as electric energy directly for a long period of time and having high energy utilization efficiency and energy saving effect.SOLUTION: An air conditioner includes a compressor for compressing a refrigerant, a heat pump cycle is formed by compressing/expanding the circulating refrigerant, and a motor 4 for driving the compressor has a rotor in which a plurality of magnets are disposed. The magnet includes a plurality of variable magnets capable of magnetizing and demagnetizing. The air conditioner includes: a magnetic force increasing/decreasing circuit 19 for magnetizing or demagnetizing the variable magnets; a conversion circuit 12 for converting electric power generated by the motor 4 into a direct current; a storage battery 11 for storing electric power which the conversion circuit 12 has converted; and a switch 13 for connecting/cutting off between the motor 4 and the conversion circuit 12. |
