<p>The present disclosure generally relates a method for quantizing image data belonging to a perceptual space having a metric whose values are a function of the differences between the visual perceptions of two points of said perceptual space, characterized in that it comprises: - obtaining a quantization space transform by means of the perceptual space and its metric; and - applying the quantization space transform to the image data to be quantized.
