The objective of this is to make a vacuum cleaner execute the optimum cleaning by always maintaining the constant vacuum. The apparatus comprises: a dust sensing means which senses the amounts of the sucked dust by executing the cleaning operation; a pressure sensing means which senses the pressure due to the sucking force of a cleaner; a direction sensing means which senses the progressing direction of the cleaner; a micro processor which determines whether it is optimum vacuum state or not after computing the outputs of the dust sensing means, the pressure sensing means and direction sensing means; a motor driving means which drives the motor according to the driving control signal of the microprocessor.
