PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine that has higher efficiency of an inverter and also secures insulation reliability by reducing a maximum voltage between phase windings in high-speed switching of the inverter.SOLUTION: A rotary electric machine 1 includes: a rotor 14 which has a plurality of magnetic poles in a peripheral direction; a stator iron core 30 which have a plurality of slots 31 in the peripheral direction; and a stator 20 which has a stator winding 40 comprising a plurality of phase windings 41 inserted into the slots 31 and wound around the stator iron core 30. The stator iron core 30 has "n" (namely, two when n=2) in-phase slots, where windings 41 of the same phase are accommodated, successively in the peripheral direction for each magnetic pole. Each phase winding 41 comprises a first partial winding "a", a second partial winding "b", a third partial winding "c", and a fourth partial winding "d" arranged in order from the side of one end while divided into 2n pieces (four) from the one end to the other end. The first and third partial windings "a" and "c" are accommodated in one in-phase slot U1, and the second and fourth partial windings "b" and "d" are accommodated in the other in-phase slot U2. |
