PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: normal image formation cannot be performed because wrinkles appear when lift and the like occur in the case where a printing medium pulled out from a roll body is set in a carrier part. ! SOLUTION: A holding member 40 for holding a printing medium 2 pulled out from a roll body 4 is provided. The holding member 40 can be moved between a first position to make the printing medium 2 held by an opposed roller 24 and a second position away from the first position to open a section between the opposed roller 24 and a carrier roller 22. An image forming apparatus comprises an interlocking mechanism which makes a spool 4 for attachment of the roll body 4 rotated in a rewinding direction in such a manner as to interlock with movement of the holding member 40 to the first position from the second position, and which moves the printing medium 2 in a direction opposite to a carrying direction. !
