<p>A self-release lead or sinker (2 figure 1a), for an anglers rig, comprising a body (4 figure 1a) and a head (6 figure 1a), wherein the body and head are formed of a single piece of material, and wherein the head has integrally formed first 18 and second arms 10 where the first arm has an aperture or slot 24, 26. In a first configuration the free end 16 of the second arm is spaced from the slot and in a second configuration the free end of the second arm is held within the slot. The second arm is moved between the first and second configurations on the application of a force. Also disclosed is a self-release mechanism 8 for fishing tackle. The slot entrance 22 may be wider than the free end of the second arm, but the slot itself may be narrower. The walls 25 of the slot may be biased together. The lead is preferably made from a plastics material.</p> |
