The present invention relates to a system and a method of color image acquisition in a monochrome scanning camera. The system includes: a projector which projects a RGB color light source; a camera capturing a target object in which the RGB color light source is projected; and a color reproduction unit which normalizes the light quantity of the RGB color light source, and obtains color images by adjusting gains of each RGB channel by using a gain adjustment coefficient produced by calculating tristimulus values of the camera. Therefore, the present invention can obtain multiple images in a same scene by projecting the RGB color light source of the projector, and finds out color information of the object inputted to the camera, thereby reproducing color information and 3D information of the object.
