[Classes 2 (iii) and 15 (ii)] Monoazo dyes, specially fast to light, are produced in substance or on the fibre by coupling diazotized 3-amino-4-methoxy-5-methylphenyl ethyl sulphone (obtainable as described in Specification 544,849) with Naphthol AS/ ITR (the 41-chloro-21-methylanilide) or Naphthol AS/TR (the 41-chloro-21 : 51 dimethoxyanilide) of 2 : 3-hydroxynaphthoic acid.
