<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing deinked pulp, which does not use an alkaline agent such as sodium hydroxide in a disintegration process, and produces deinked pulp having excellent ink releasability. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the deinked pulp includes the disintegration process of disintegrating raw material waste paper in water. In the disintegration process, in a range of 0.3-6.0 pts.wt. of zinc oxide having an average particle diameter of 1.0-5.0μm is added with respect to 100 pts.wt. of the raw material waste paper to disintegrate the raw material waste paper.
