<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an RFID communication device which can perform communication using an intended RFID standard without performing complicated processing even in an environment in which a plurality of RFID standards coexist. <P>SOLUTION: Communication means 81 transmits carriers of a plurality of RFID protocols. Fixed protocol storage means 82 stores a protocol definition rule which defines a correlation between an RFID protocol indicated by a response wave the most recently received and an RFID protocol of a carrier to be subsequently transmitted. On receiving a response wave corresponding to the carrier transmitted by the communication means 81, protocol identification means 83 identifies an RFID protocol of the carrier to be subsequently transmitted on the basis of an RFID protocol indicated by the response wave and the protocol definition rule.
