PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for evaluating a redox flow battery in situ.SOLUTION: A device for evaluating a redox flow battery includes: a control unit 20 that is configured to control either the paths of flow channels 602, 604, 606, 608 connected between the detection cells 108, 110 and the electrolyte tanks 104, 106 of a redox flow battery, or the paths of flow channels 802, 804 connected between the detection cells 108, 110 and the agitator 112; and an evaluation unit 30 configured to evaluate any one of an amount of charge, capacity fade and oxidation number balance of an electrolyte, which is used in the redox flow battery 102, by measuring a current or voltage of the detection cells 108, 110 based on the controlling of the path by the control unit 20. In a method for evaluating a redox flow battery, the control unit 30 evaluates information on battery capacity fade and information on the oxidation number balance of positive electrode and negative electrode electrolytes in situ. |
