The present invention relates to a high pressure pump driving apparatus for a fuel gas supply system, including: an LNG tank; a high pressure pump to compress LNG from the LNG tank to a high pressure; a vaporizer installed on a fuel gas supply line at the rear end of the high pressure pump to vaporize LNG; an auxiliary shaft provided in an engine which combusts LPG supplied from the vaporizer to produce a driving force; and a hydraulic pump connected to the auxiliary shaft to operate the high pressure pump. Therefore, the high pressure pump driving apparatus for a fuel gas supply system reduces energy consumption by driving the high pressure pump using the power of the engine and facilitates the control of the high pressure pump.
