摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction stir welding method capable of performing welding to a deep position of an abutting part by lessening a load applied to a friction stir device.SOLUTION: A friction stir welding method includes: a tab material arranging process; a first tab material joining process for joining an abutting part between a metal member 1 and a first tab material; a second tab material joining process for joining an abutting part between the metal member 1 and a second tab material; and a main joining process for inserting an agitation pin F2 to the first tab material and subjecting the abutting part J1 to friction agitation joint by performing relative movement while bringing only the agitation pin F2, of the friction agitation device and a main joining rotation tool F into contact with the metal member 1, and separating the agitation pin F2 with the second tab material. Therein, in the first tab material joining process, a temporary joining rotation tool is pushed-in to the abutting part between the metal member 1 and the first tab material and, at the same time, is relatively moved and, in the second tab material joining process, the temporary joining rotation tool is pushed-in to the abutting part between the metal member 1 and the second tab material and, at the same time, is relatively moved.
