PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ship propulsion machine which reduces a load applied to a thrust bearing supporting a front gear, and to provide a manufacturing method of the ship propulsion machine.SOLUTION: A ship propulsion machine 1 includes: a dog clutch 25 which selectively engages with one of a front gear 23 and a rear gear 24; an intermediate shaft 12 which is rotatably supported by the front gear 23 and the rear gear 24 and integrally rotates with the dog clutch 25; a propeller shaft 13 to which rotation of the intermediate shaft 12 is transmitted; a lower case 19 which stores the drive gear 22 etc.; and thrust force transmission members B7, 53 which receive thrust force exerted in a forward direction from the propeller shaft 13 and transmit the thrust force to the lower case 19 without causing the thrust force to pass through the intermediate shaft 12. |
