FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a copolymer, comprising a backbone hydrocarbon chain and side groups containing carboxyl groups and polyoxyalkyl groups, characterised by that it also contains gem-bis-phosphonic groups. The invention also discloses a method of producing a copolymer and an additive for suspensions of mineral particles containing said copolymer. The invention also relates to use of said copolymer to dilute and preserve fluidity of a suspension of mineral particles and to reduce sensitivity of hydraulic compositions to clays and alkali metal sulphates.
