PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure for allowing the measurement of the internal temperature with high accuracy and easy replacement of a temperature measuring probe such as a thermoelectric couple.SOLUTION: A honeycomb structure 100 includes: a honeycomb base material 10 having a porous partition wall 1 to define a plurality of cells 2 extending from an inflow end face 11 as one end face which forms a flow path for fluid and into which the fluid flows, to an outflow end face 12 as the another end face from which the fluid flows out; and plugging parts 25 arranged at the one-side ends of the predetermined cells among the cells 2 and at the another-side ends of the remaining cells. The honeycomb base material 10 is formed with at least one groove part 20 which has an opening in the side face of the honeycomb base material 10 and into which the temperature measuring probe is inserted.
