The present invention relates to a system and a method for an augmented reality system using virtual reality. The present invention includes: an image acquisition unit acquiring an image; a marker recognition unit recognizing a marker from the acquired image; and a virtual contents processing unit generating a virtual space around the recognized marker, displaying virtual contents corresponding to the marker with the image acquired from the image acquisition unit based on the virtual space, designating a reference point of the virtual space as an augmented position when the marker is lost, and displaying the virtual contents or the other preset virtual contents on the designated augmented position.
