A vehicle, e.g. car, truck, lorry, van, automobile, with a passive entry system to unlock the vehicle after authenticating a key fob 160 near the vehicle and including at least one antenna 170 within the vehicle. The vehicle also has a controller which uses the antenna to, in response to a trigger event, send a challenge at a frequency less than 150 kHz, receive a response to the challenge indicative of a tag 175 in the vicinity of the vehicle and indentifying an item based on the RFID 175. Also claimed is a vehicle with a passive entry system and two antennas 170, 145 for a challenge at less than 150 kHz and a response at at least 200 MHz and a vehicle with a passive entry system which challenges in response to a trigger event at a frequency less than 150 kHz and receives a response indicative of a tag 175 and identifies an object based on the tag 175. |
