[Problem] To provide a thermochromic color-memory composition which can effectively exhibit a property of memorizing colors photochromically and which is applicable in a wide variety of fields, and a thermochromic color-memory microcapsule pigment having the composition encapsulated therein. [Solution] A thermochromic color-memory composition comprising a component (a) composed of an electron-donating and coloring organic compound, a component (b) composed of an electron-accepting compound, and a component (c) composed of an ester compound represented by formula (1) below as a reaction media for controlling the coloring reaction between the components (a) and (b); and a thermochromic color-memory microcapsule pigment encapsulated therein. (In the formula, R represents a C3-C18 alkyl group or a C3-C18 aliphatic acyl group; X represents a hydrogen atom, a C1-C3 alkyl group, a C1-C2 alkoxy group, or a halogen atom; Y represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and Z represents a hydrogen atom, C1-C4 alkyl group, a C1-C2 alkoxy group, or a halogen atom.) |
