PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which, when two main body metal fittings are mutually fastened during barrel plating processing, a plating failure is generated.SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a spark plug includes: a preparation step for preparing a joined body formed by joining a rod-like ground electrode member to a tip part of a cylindrical main body metal fitting having a screw part at the tip part; and a plating step for performing a plating treatment of the joined body by using a barrel plating apparatus. The preparation step includes a step of tilting the ground electrode member of the joined body to an outside in a radial direction of the main body metal fitting with respect to a direction parallel to a central axis of the main body metal fitting. The plating step performs a plating treatment of the joined body in a state where the ground electrode member is tilted. |
