A transaction system comprising a transaction facilitator operable to receive and process a transaction request from a user device; a transaction channel 5 controller operable to change the state of the transaction channel between a first and a second state; and a fund provider operable to receive processed transaction request and determine if the transaction channel is in the first or second state; and provide or not provide the funds accordingly is disclosed.
