<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switcher in which the maximum connectable number of source apparatus performing HDCP authentication can be estimated with only the switcher. <P>SOLUTION: A switcher 2 for connecting a source apparatus and a connected apparatus appropriately based on the HDCP standard includes a means for setting an expected maximum connectable number MAX of the source apparatus connected with an input line, means for detecting an authentication request from the source apparatus, means 10 for performing authentication processing of the switcher itself in response to the authentication request from the source apparatus, means 9, 10 for performing dummy authentication processing between the source apparatus and the means 9, 10 by generating the dummy KSV data of a number corresponding to the expected maximum connectable number thus set, and a means 11 for estimating the maximum connectable number of source apparatus on the basis of the expected maximum connectable number at a moment in time when the authentication state of the source apparatus changes by performing the dummy authentication processing one or more times by changing the expected maximum connectable number. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
