The present invention relates to a method for managing a chat message. In an embodiment of the present invention, a chat message transforms when an input chat message includes a particular word and a first opponent is not included in one or more receiving opponents who are receiving the chat message, and the transformed chat message can be transmitted to the receiving opponent. The particular word can be transformed differently in the chat message, which means that the particular word can be deleted from the chat message or information related to the first opponent can be added to the particular word. Accordingly, a bond between two users having a close relationship can be enhanced through a chatting application.
