In one embodiment, a first shield electrode and a second shield electrode are arranged on a first substrate. A first source line and a second source line are arranged facing the first and second shield electrodes through an insulating layer, respectively. A first main common electrode and a second main common electrode are formed facing the first and second source lines through an insulating layer, respectively. A main pixel electrode is formed so as to locate between the first and second main common electrodes. A second substrate includes a third main common electrode and a fourth main common electrode facing the first and second main common electrodes, respectively. A liquid crystal layer is held between the first and second substrates. The first, second, third and fourth main common electrodes are set to the same electric potential. |

1. A liquid crystal display device, comprising:
a first substrate including; a first insulating layer, a shield electrode arranged on the first insulating layer and extending along a first direction, an auxiliary capacitance line arranged on the first insulating layer and extending in a second direction orthogonally crossing the first direction, the auxiliary capacitance line integrally formed with the shield electrode, a second insulating layer formed on the first insulating layer and the shield electrode, a source line arranged on the second insulating layer facing the shield electrode and extending in the first direction, a third insulating layer formed on the second insulating layer and the source line, a first main common electrode formed on the third insulating layer facing the source line and extending in the first direction, and a main pixel electrode formed on the third insulating layer apart from the first main common electrode in the second direction and extending in the first direction, and a second substrate and a liquid crystal layer held between the first and second substrates and having liquid crystal molecules. |
