Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for managing a battery pack, capable of increasing charging efficiency and securing long lifespan of the battery pack by reflecting a use pattern of a user while charging a battery pack. According to the present invention, the apparatus for managing the battery pack comprises: an access sensing unit for sensing whether a charging device is accessed in a charging terminal for charging a secondary battery; a vision detection unit for detecting access time of the charging device when access of the charging device is sensed by the access sensing unit; and a current control unit for controlling the size of a charging current supplied from the charging device to the secondary battery with respect to access time detected by the vision detection unit. |
