<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user-friendliness of a viewer absence mode using a human detection sensor, in an image display device provided with the human detection sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The image display device of this invention comprises: a human detection sensor (101) for detecting the presence or absence of a viewer; and a CPU (105) which when the human detection sensor detects the absence of the viewer, controls the image display device to shift to the viewer absence mode for stopping the display or reproduction of images. If the frequency of an output signal of the human detection sensor (101) is zero and a signal generated by operation on an operation part (102) or a remote control signal is inputted to the CPU (105), the CPU determines a failure in the human detection sensor (101) to prevent the shift to the viewer absence mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
