PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stretcher carrying assistant device which enables suitably carrying a stretcher down a stair by a small number of people, while reducing inclination of the stretcher even with a high step in the stair. ! SOLUTION: A stretcher carrying assistant device 1 includes: a body 10 detachably attached to one end 110a of a pair of parallel support bars 110; and a brake controller 20 detachably attached to the other end 110b. The body 10 includes: an installation portion 11 attached to the pair of support bars 110; a leg portion 12 which is rotatably arranged on the installation portion 11 and has a wheel 12c having a brake 12d connected to the brake controller 20; and positioning means 13 for rotating and positioning the leg portion 12 between a first position to which a position of the supported stretcher 100 is lowered and a second position to which a position of the supported stretcher 100 is raised.
