PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance weld strength without increasing a dimension and weight of a weld part between an outer panel and an inner panel which constitute a side sill.SOLUTION: Lower joint flanges 17a, 18a of an outer panel 17 and an inner panel 18 of a side sill 13 are seam-welded W1(a), a relationship between a nugget width w of the seam weld W1(1a) and a nugget diameter d of the normal spot weld of a vehicle body is set at 0.29≤w/d≤0.36, and shear strength equal to that of normal spot weld can be thereby obtained by using the seam weld W1(a) which is high in strength against the mouth-open deformation of the lower joint flanges 17a, 18a, and reducible in weight by narrowing widths of the lower joint flanges 17a, 18a. Furthermore, since the seam weld W1(a) welds the laminated lower joint flanges 17a, 18a while pressurizing them by electrodes, not only weld strength is stabilized because a clearance between the lower joint flanges 17a, 18a is eliminated, but also productivity is improved because a special weld jig is unnecessary. |
