One of various embodiments of the present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for managing an application of an electronic device. The operation method of a second electronic device comprises: receiving update notification including target information indicating a target to be updated from a first electronic device; identifying an application needing a update among pre-installed applications based on the target information of the received update notification; and receiving update data from the first electronic device in order to update the identified application.
