Compositions comprising antibacterial agent and tazobactam

Provided are pharmaceutical compositions comprising tazobactam and at least one antibacterial agent selected from cefepime, cefpirome, ceftobiprole, ceftaroline, cefclidine, cefluprenam, cefoselis, cefozopran, cefquinome, moxalactam, flomoxef, biapenem, panipenem, doripenem, ertapenem, meropenem, imipenem, razupenem, temocillin and CXA-101, wherein the ratio of tazobactam to antibacterial agent is from about 0.5 to about 2 grams of tazobactam per gram of antibacterial agent. The preferred antibacterial agents are cefepime and cefpirome. The compositions are useful in the treatment of bacterial infections.
