PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the time required for rewriting a control program.SOLUTION: In an engine ECU 2, a data-rewritable flash ROM 12 stores a control program PG1 for controlling an engine. Communication circuits 13, 14, 15 receive first to third sub-programs formed by dividing a new control program PG2, via communication lines 4, 5, 6, from a program rewrite apparatus 3. The engine ECU 2 writes the first to third sub-programs received by the communication circuits 13, 14, 15 on the flash ROM 12, to rewrite the control program PG1 stored in the flash ROM 12. |
